Tuguegarao City Science High School
The Tuguegarao City Science High School is the Public Science High School of the province Cagayan. It is located at the old municipal hall of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines. It was established in 2008, and its inauguration was celebrated on June 9, 2008. The school has around 319 students. It is administered by the government's Department of Education.
History:
Tuguegarao City Science High School separates its students by sections based on the scores obtained at the entrance examination taken before a student is admitted at the first year level in accordance with the country's standard. In 2008-2009, there was no entrance examination for its pioneering batch. The students in the school year 2008-2009 are actually passers of Philippine Science High School including first screening passers.[clarification needed] The students for the first year level were formerly separated in 3 sections named Einstein, Newton and Curie.These sections' name were gotten from the surnames of the scientists.The 3 sections have the same level of excellence.In the second year level, 3 sections were formerly named Descartes, Euclid, and Pythagoras.The 3 sections got its name from the surname of mathematicians.In these sections, there is a different level of excellence, based on the comparative ability of the students. In the third year level, 3 sections were formerly named Lavoisier, Dalton, and Priestley. The 3 sections got its name from the surname of chemists. In these sections, there is a different level of excellence, based on the comparative ability of the students. In the fourth year level, 3 sections were formerly named Le Chatelier, Archimedes, and Bernoulli, there is a different level of excellence, based on the comparative ability of the students.
Administration:
The institution is under the leadership of their second principal, Ernestina Cariniugan. She officially became the principal on October 12, 2011 - the send-off program for Linda Pagulayan Tungcul, Ph.D., the school's former principal.
